Graduate Student Symposium

Co-Chairs: Mary Czerwinski (Microsoft Research, USA) & Jim Hollan (University of California, San Diego, USA)

The objective of the symposium is to provide a supportive setting for feedback on graduate students' current work and guidance on future directions. Student participants will meet and discuss their work with each other and a panel of experienced researchers and practitioners. The goal is to offer students comments and fresh perspectives on their current work. PhD and MFA students from all disciplines concerned with creativity and cognition are encouraged to apply. The application should include a one-page biographical sketch, a four-page description of their current work and the expected benefits of participation, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Applicants who are selected to participate will receive complimentary conference registration and reimbursement for travel and accommodations (maximum amount tbd).
